Brave Roasters was founded in 2013 in Bangkok by Ekameth 'Tay' Wipvasutti as the city's first specialty coffee roaster, originally as a roasting-only operation before expanding into retail. Wipvasutti was crowned 2023 World AeroPress Champion exactly ten years after opening, a marker of his decade-long focus on Thai-grown specialty coffee from Chiang Rai and northern provinces alongside imported origins from Ethiopia and Colombia. The brand now operates four Bangkok cafés (Siam Discovery, Seen Space, Samyan U-Center, The Parq) plus a state-of-the-art HQ factory at One Cool Avenue.
Brave is the brand most responsible for proving that Thai-grown coffee belongs on a specialty menu. By starting in 2013 in a market that didn't yet exist, then having its founder win the 2023 World AeroPress Championship a decade later, the company built its credibility and the broader Thai specialty scene's credibility in parallel. The close geographic relationship between Bangkok and Thailand's coffee-growing north has let Brave run experimental lots and feedback loops with farmers that most country-based roasters can't.
