Ben Rahim is Tunisia's first specialty coffee company, opened February 2022 in the historic coastal suburb of Sidi Bou Said by Tunisian-born founder Ben Rahim — a decade after he opened his original 20-square-meter Berlin shop in 2015. The Tunis location runs strictly without sugar or milk in its coffee service and anchors the Tunis Coffee Festival that Ben Rahim Coffee Company launched in 2022, the country's first dedicated specialty coffee event.
Tunisia's coffee culture is rooted in Turkish cezve preparation and social cafeterias where coffee is secondary to gathering. Ben Rahim is the first operator to introduce structured specialty coffee education — pour-over brew bars, cuppings, barista competitions — into the country, and the Tunis Coffee Festival has become the anchor event for emerging Tunisian baristas.
