Café Des Iles describes itself as Seychelles's only premium and specialty coffee roastery, operating from Providence on Mahé. Founded by Vincent Boullé, it brings dedicated specialty-grade roasting infrastructure to an island archipelago whose coffee culture has historically been built around Italian-style imports for resort F&B.
Seychelles is functionally a luxury hospitality economy with no domestic coffee production, and the country's cafés overwhelmingly serve imported Italian-style coffee. Café Des Iles is the only operation rebuilding the inverse story — actually roasting on-island — and stands alongside Mauritius's Café de Chamarel as one of the only Indian Ocean island roasters of any scale.
