Tupu'anga Coffee runs a farm-to-cup operation outside Nuku'alofa: they grow taro on their own farm, source coffee cherries locally, and roast on-site at the Popua café. The European-style café and adjoining cassava-chip factory are open for free informal tours of the roasting area, with a children's playground and free Wi-Fi for sit-down customers.
Tonga's third-wave coffee scene is essentially Nuku'alofa-only, and Tupu'anga is the operation that ties locally-grown product to a working roaster. Coffee Post (centre Nuku'alofa) and Moli Green Cafe both serve locally-roasted Kingdom Koffie beans, but Tupu'anga is the integrated grower-roaster that travel guides consistently flag as Tongatapu's must-visit foodie experience.
