Lamiz Coffee is Iran's first specialty coffee company and coffee shop chain, established in Tehran in 2004 by Zal Enterprises Ltd, a Canadian-Iranian company founded in Vancouver in 2001. Lamiz operates a vertically integrated "green-to-cup" model — buyers source green beans from origin farms, the company roasts in small batches at its own Iranian facility, and the result is sold across multiple branches throughout Tehran and other Iranian cities.
Lamiz pre-dates Sam Coffee Roasters (2009) and effectively introduced specialty coffee to a market where the vast majority of consumers were familiar only with instant coffee or traditional ibrik-brewed Turkish-style preparations. Twenty years on, the chain has stayed in front of Iran's third-wave evolution while expanding the specialty footprint outside Tehran.
